African Fashion Week 2019: A Modern African Cultural Experience

AFWL is the largest and longest-running, culturally diverse fashion and trade exhibition in Europe. Since its creation in 2011, AFWL has left a legacy showcasing 900 designers, in front of an audience of more than 70,000 attendees, and represented more than 50 countries with 30 of them being African. The annual event has attracted over 3.3 million views across multiple platforms and 34 million impressions online.
This year‘s event is destined to mark a milestone in its history with the inclusion of several commercial facets designed to enhance the experience of attendees and exhibitors.
What To Expect
• African Souk
Visitors will be transported into Africa with the “African Souk” space which promises to showcase new and aspiring African fashion designers and accessory companies housed in an authentic display of some of Africa’s most innovative designs.
• Business Forum / Workshop
A business ‘forum, offering guidance and advice to aspiring designers and a panel discussion from leading manufacturers, retailers and government officials and in all areas relating to fashion. There will be an opportunity for attendees to get up close and personal with their favourite designers with a presentation space offering question forum.
• Luxury Boutique
The luxury market space is designed to showcase some of the leading and well-established brands within African fashion, there are a number of brands travelling from overseas showcasing new collections never before seen in the European market.
African Food Village
The new inclusion “food village” will be showcasing more than 4 African catering companies and brands with food from all over North South East and West Africa. With a lovely eating Galleria designed for you to enjoy your food with friends and network with other attendees.
This year there is a selection of 5 fashion shows taking place on both days with a focus on sustainability, eco-fashion and diversity.
